Description
VetoKet is an injectable non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing ketoprofen. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties and is used for the treatment of various inflammatory and painful conditions in cattle, pigs, and horses.
Composition
Each 1 ml contains:
Ketoprofen – 100 mg
Target Species
Cattle, pigs, and horses.
Indications for Use
Cattle
Reduction of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders;
Treatment of inflammatory diseases of the udder.
Pigs
Postpartum dysgalactia syndrome (metritis, mastitis, agalactia);
Respiratory diseases as an anti-inflammatory and antipyretic treatment.
Horses
Musculoskeletal and joint disorders;
Symptomatic treatment of pain associated with colic;
Reduction of postoperative pain and swelling.
Dosage and Administration
Cattle
Intramuscularly or intravenously:
3 mg ketoprofen/kg body weight per day
Equivalent to 3 ml per 100 kg body weight per day
For 3 consecutive days
Pigs
Intramuscularly:
3 mg ketoprofen/kg body weight
Equivalent to 3 ml per 100 kg body weight
Single administration
Horses
Intravenously:
2.2 mg ketoprofen/kg body weight per day
Equivalent to 1 ml per 45 kg body weight per day
For 3–5 days
Important: In cases of colic, treatment should not be repeated before a clinical examination has been performed. Administration of more than 5 ml at a single intramuscular injection site is not recommended.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen;
Gastrointestinal ulceration or lesions;
Hemorrhagic diathesis;
Blood dyscrasias;
Impaired liver, heart, or kidney function;
Foals during the first month of life.
Adverse Reactions
Local irritation after repeated intramuscular injections;
Gastrointestinal irritation or ulceration;
Temporary loss of appetite in pigs;
Allergic reactions.
Pregnancy and Lactation
The effects of ketoprofen on fertility, pregnancy, and fetal viability in horses have not been established. The product should not be administered to pregnant mares or foals younger than 15 days of age.
Interactions with Other Medicinal Products
Do not use concurrently with diuretics;
Do not use concurrently with anticoagulants;
Do not administer with other NSAIDs or within 24 hours of their administration.
Overdose
Possible symptoms include:
Loss of appetite;
Vomiting;
Diarrhea.

Cattle, Pigs, Horses
Meat and offal: 4 days
Milk (cows): 0 days
Presentation
100 ml injectable solution in a dark glass vial sealed with a rubber stopper, aluminum cap, and tamper-evident plastic closure. Packed in a cardboard box.
Storage Conditions
Keep the container tightly closed;
Store in a dry place protected from light;
Store below 25°C;
Keep out of reach of children.
Shelf life: 3 years.
