Ear Drops and Cutaneous Suspension

Composition
1 ml contains: Miconazole nitrate 23.0 mg (equivalent to 19.98 mg miconazole); Prednisolone acetate 5.0 mg (equivalent to 4.48 mg prednisolone); Polymyxin B sulfate 5500 IU (equivalent to 0.5293 mg polymyxin B sulfate).

Indications
Used for the treatment of external auditory canal infections (otitis externa) in dogs and cats, as well as primary and secondary skin and skin appendage (hair, nails, sweat glands) infections in dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. Effective against:

• Fungi: Malassezia pachydermatis, Candida spp., Microsporum spp., Trichophyton spp.

• Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.

• Gram-negative bacteria: Pseudomonas spp., Escherichia coli

• Otodectes cynotis (ear mites)

Contraindications
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the ingredients, large skin wounds, fresh or poorly healing wounds, viral skin infections, or perforated eardrums. Use cautiously in pregnant or lactating animals.

Adverse Reactions
Rare cases of deafness may occur (mainly in older dogs). Long-term use may lead to local immunosuppression, thinning of the epidermis, and delayed wound healing.

Target Species
Dogs, cats, guinea pigs.

Dosage and Administration
Auricular:

• 3–5 drops twice daily. Gently massage the ear. Continue for 7–14 days or a few days beyond clinical resolution.

Cutaneous:

• Apply a thin layer twice daily. Treat for up to 14 days or 2–3 weeks if needed.

• Prior to use, clip hair and clean skin.

Storage Conditions
Store below 25°C and out of reach of children. Use within 6 months after opening.

Warnings

• Identify and treat underlying cause of otitis.

• Avoid oral ingestion. Use gloves. In case of contact or ingestion, seek medical help.

• Use in pregnant/lactating animals only under vet supervision.

• Do not mix with other veterinary products.
